WAAF Agro Limited CEO Donates Two Motorbikes to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture
Techiman, Bono East. The Chief Executive Officer of WAAF Agro Limited, Kwadwo Addo, has donated two brand new motorbikes to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in support of the ministry’s agricultural extension and field operations.
The donation was officially received by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, at a brief ceremony held in Techiman, Bono East.
Speaking at the presentation, the CEO of WAAF Agro Limited highlighted the company’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s agricultural development through collaborative efforts with government institutions. He noted that the motorbikes would enhance mobility for MoFA’s extension officers, enabling them to reach better and serve farmers across the country, particularly those in remote communities.
At WAAF Agro Limited, we believe agriculture is the backbone of Ghana’s economy. This donation reflects our commitment to supporting the ministry in its mission to improve farmer productivity and ensure national food security,” he stated.
Receiving the motorbikes on behalf of the ministry, Dr. Afriyie Akoto expressed appreciation to WAAF Agro Limited for the timely support. He emphasized that logistics remains one of the key challenges in the ministry’s extension delivery, and the donation will significantly contribute to effective service provision.
“This intervention will strengthen our ability to reach farmers and provide them with the technical support they need. We commend WAAF Agro Limited for this thoughtful contribution and call on other private sector players to partner with the Government in building a stronger, more resilient agricultural sector,” Dr. Akoto said.
The ceremony ended with the symbolic handover of the motorbike keys, after which the ministry assured that the equipment would be deployed immediately to enhance field operations.
This donation reflects WAAF Agro Limited’s broader corporate social responsibility agenda, which aligns with the company’s vision of promoting sustainable agriculture and contributing to national development.
